An Accounting from All Creatures

by Keith Brenton
“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.” ~ Genesis 9:4-5

As Noah disembarks on dry land, God gives him a warning; a commandment that is reinforced in the time of Moses (Leviticus 19:26) – not to eat meat with the lifeblood still in it. Yet it also counsels respect for the lives of the men and animals saved from the flood, and respect from the animals of human life as well. If God says He will demand an accounting for every life from man and animal, is it too much of a stretch to say that all creatures who praise His name (Revelation 5:13) will, in some way, be judged?

And shouldn't that praise begin now?
