Revealed to Little Children
by Keith Brenton
04/30/2008 - On an occasion when Jesus expressed praise to the Father, it wasn’t because He had revealed truths, but because He had revealed them to the childlike hearts and had hidden them from those who were too smart for anyone’s own good:
At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." ~ Luke 10:21-22
We should give God glory for preserving the integrity of His truth through people of simplicity, thank Him for the privilege of being among them, and ask Him to always make us wise as serpents, yet innocent as doves.
